Reflection

Reflection

Part 1 :

Reread the exercise 7.1 “guided fantasy” in chapter 7 (p. 136). Take five to ten minutes and free write a response where you narrate a day in your future, describing where you live, your commute, how you dress for work, lunch, how your afternoon goes, etc. You don’t have to answer every question, but be specific about the details– what kind of car do you drive? Is your job outdoors or indoors? Once you can describe your expectations about the future, it will be easier to figure out if your career goal will give you what you want out of life.

Part 2:

Reread the “Real Stories: Meet Jessica” case study in chapter 6 of Career Fitness (p. 124). Reflect on Jessica’s story and respond to at least two of the following questions: how could Jessica have learned about the stresses of her job before taking it? What was the advantage in working before going to graduate school? Have you considered graduate school? Explain your position. How did she use her current job to get the job she wanted?
